OSMTH acknowledges and gives great thanks for, the historic role that the Maronite Church has played in Lebanon and the Church’s continuing influence for good in Lebanese society today. The current seat of the Archbishop is in the city of Beirut, located in Saint George’s Cathedral, and the Archdiocese is divided into 127 parishes which, as of 2012, comprised 232,000 Maronite Catholics.
A Maronite community was present in Beirut during the period of the medieval Knights Templar.

Following the tragic explosion in the city’s port in August 2020, OSMTH responded to the severe economic difficulties, the political instability, and the serious impacts that these factors were having on the everyday lives of Lebanon’s citizens.
OSMTH made a donation of EUR 2,500 to support the Maronite Archdiocese of Beirut to assist families in the local communities in need to obtain:
